written and illustrated by Judd Winick. -- Portland, OR :
   ONI Press, 2001. -- 1 v. : ill. ; 26 cm. -- "This collects
issues 1-3 of the Oni Press comics series." -- Summary
(from SkyRiver): In this third hilarious trade paperback
Barry Ween's bringing monkeys! He is the world's smartest
human being; his "big brain," has a limitless capacity for
knowledge, and Barry has no problem putting that knowledge
to use. That's pretty cool when you consider the fact that
he's only 10 years old. Unfortunately, when you have that
kind of smarts, trouble is nearly a foregone conclusion!
Giant, talking gorillas from other dimensions; drunken,
smelly clans of Bigfeet; and a germ-filled monkey looking
to cause the next outbreak - these are things that Barry
has come to accept as normal. Compared to such frightening
childhood rites of passage as girls and the first school
dance, Barry would take all three scenarios without
blinking. This trade paperback collects the first three
issues of Eisner-nominated creator Judd Winick's
mini-series and features the debut of Bezeruul, the giant
talking ape! -- Funny kid genre. -- Call no.:

The Adventures of Barry Ween, Boy Genius. 4, Gorilla Warfare /

   ONI Press, 2002. -- 1 v. : ill. ; 26 cm. -- "This collects
issues 4-6 of the Oni Press comics series The adventures of
Barry Ween, boy genius 3: Monkey Tales." -- Summary (from
SkyRiver): Barry Ween is back in his biggest adventure yet!
For the uninitiated, Barry Ween is the smartest boy the
world has ever known, a position that certainly has its
perks. What other ten-year-old boy has unlimited access to
cutting edge technology, hidden ancient secrets, and real
nude photos of celebrities? But, its not all cool gadgets
and lingerie, because if word got out about his big brain,
it could land Barry, his family, and his best friend Jeremy
in a heap of trouble. Keeping it secret is easier said than
done in a world where science can take bizarre turns.
Mutated baby sitters, talking gorillas, and a strangely
familiar warrior woman from another dimension all put
Barrys massive intellect to the test and make his giant
secret that much harder to keep! "The Adventures of Barry
Ween, Boy Genius 4: Gorilla Warfare" pits the foul-mouthed
fourth grader against his biggest challenge yet, with
hilarious results. -- Funny kid genre. -- Call no.:

the world of adventure with Milo Manara's most beloved
character, Giuseppe Bergman! Revered for his peerless
draftsmanship, Manara is also a wily satirist, and his
Bergman tales are hilarious send-ups of adventure comics.
Longing to escape his boring life, Bergman joins the
   mysterious H. P. (a loving caricature of Manara's mentor
Hugo Pratt) on a bizarre, televised adventure for which he
proves laughably unprepared. Also featuring Bergman's

The Adventures of Jodelle

Summary: It's 14 B.C., in anachronistic Rome. Emperor Augustus calls his chief spy to him. The Proconsuless is plotting against him, and he needs proof of it. The chief spy calls Jodelle, who plans to find the proof in the private chambers of the Proconsuless with the help of her friend Gallia, who is the maid of the Proconsuless. The Imperial Gossip, a small green man, warns the Proconsuless, while Jodelle, already in the villa, has a peek at the Proconsuless's incriminating diary. Jodelle is caught and put in a grinder. With the help of Gallia, whom the Proconsuless kills, Jodelle escapes with the diary but goes missing. The chief spy and Jodelle's cousin Bodu (a druid-in-training, and also a kind of werewolf) search for Jodelle, as does the Proconsuless. The Emperor is displeased, and the Proconsuless's troops march on Rome. Jodelle turns up in a slave market clutching the diary protectively but not remembering why. She calls herself Amnesia. In the dormitory of a slaveholder Amnesia puts down a revolt of the other young women slaves because they want to touch her book. Amnesia is then put in charge of the old ladies who serve as guards. The slaves work in a factory producing publicity for the Proconsuless. While Amnesia is loading slave women to be sent on loan for the Glamurian copulating season, the Proconsuless arrives. At about the time she sees the Proconsuless, Jodelle recovers her memory and begins rallying the slaves to attack the old ladies. Bodu arrives with Glamurian troops to help Jodelle, and the chief spy arrives in a helicopter to take Jodelle and the diary to the Emperor. Her secrets revealed, the Proconsuless is on the run. She sneaks into the Emperor's palace and is about to make the Emperor cut Jodelle in little pieces with a saw, when Bodu shows up to save the day in his werewolflike persona. Later at the coliseum the Proconsuless is eaten alive by a crowd of zombies, while the audience cheers.
