Summary: In Thessaly, Greece, French
archaeologist Eduard Morel is killed after stealing an unknown
Ibn Battuta manuscript from a monastery. Before his death he
manages to mail the manuscript to Martin Mystery in New York.
In the Azores, Martin and Java are diving and find a series of
bronze statues and the symbol of Atlantis. They are attacked by
mysterious men in black who blow up the whole site with depth
charges. Martin and Java just barely escape. Back home, Martin
reads the manuscript and its account of how libraries of
Atlantean knowledge were placed around the world. The
manuscript implies that there should be an accompanying
map. Going to Greece to
check it out, Martin learns that Morel is dead, then goes to
the clifftop monastery to ask about the map. The reception is
unfriendly, so he and Java sneak in that night and steal the
map, escaping with hang gliders. A woman representing herself
as an acquaintance of Morel's goes with them to Egypt, to Luxor
where the map places the forgotten library. Once they get in,
she pulls a gun and says she's working for an old enemy of
Martin's. She gets killed by a group of Men in Black, who
explain that they're going around destroying secrets of old
civilizations because their revelation would change the world
order. The library is destroyed, and only Martin and Java get
out alive.

1, no. 2 (Junio 2001).
esporádica y no demasiado copiosa.
tradujo a varios lenguas." -- Abstract: A personal vision
of the comics scene in Uruguay, through the eyes of a
writer who has worked only sporadically in the medium. His
work has gotten mixed reviews, but he is locally accepted
as a pioneer though working in such a small market that the
development of the comics writing specialty is severely
limited. C.M. Federici is the author of six novels, of two
collections of science fiction and detective stories, and
of various stories and periodical articles. His work has
been translated to various languages. -- Abstracts as
