Fai.
Tsubasa / Clamp ; translated and adapted by Anthony Gerard
[et al.] ; lettered by Dana Hayward. -- New York :
Ballantine Books, 2004- . -- ill. ; 19 cm. -- "First
published in book form by Kodansha Ltd., Tokyo, in 2003" --
(A Del Rey book) -- Summary (from OCLC): Syaoran, Fai,
Kurogane, and Mokona venture to the Hanshin Republic to
find one of the missing pieces of Sakura's memory,
transformed into magically powerful feathers. There,
Syaoran meets his "Kudan": a fierce wolf-spirit whose fiery
power mirrors Syaoran's personal strength. But with foes
like a pop idol who sings words of pain, Syaoran's hunt for
feathers is no child's game! Even if he finds the feathers,
will Sakura ever wake up from her magical sleep? And since
Syaoran bargained away their relationship in a pact with a
witch, can their love ever return to the way it was? --

Summary: The Queen of Belgium sends Sidonia a
letter, asking her to visit the disabled children in Fabiola
Village. When they arrive the building is burning down. The
children are safe but Ambrose and Jethro have to save three
trapped nurses. The building collapses, and Suzy finds a
stunned fairy in the wreckage. Spike and Suzy sneak the fairy
home, but when Ambrose tries to kill her with bug spray the
grownups have to be convinced she exists, and the fairy
explains. She is a star who used to come to Earth to dance for
the Moon Goddess, and got left behind in the power of a witch.
The witch makes her and her six sisters dance all the time even
when they're tired. The story she's from is called "The Indian
Waterlilies," and it was written by Queen Fabiola. The fairy
was in the building that night looking for help from her
author, because she saw the name on the sign: Fabiola Village.
That night a large diamond falls into the Indian Waterlilies
exhibit at Holland's Efteling Theme Park, and the witch grabs
it and hides it. Then she notices one of the fairies is gone,
and sends a large guardian statue out to find it. Spike and
Suzy's old enemy Krimson has a run-in with the giant statue,
and then the giant finds Aunt Sidonia's house where the fairy
is sleeping. Jethro knocks the giant unconscious. Professor
Barnabas and his Sound Tapper are called in the next morning,
and the friends learn about the large diamond, while Krimson
overhears. When the fairy hears about the diamond she faints.
The company decides to go to Efteling, except for Jethro who
has been put to sleep with sleeping pills by Krimson. Krimson
follows them and shoots out their tires, so they get a ride in
an airplane and parachute into the amusement park. Within the
park a struggle goes on with Krimson, the witch, and characters
from "The Seven Goats," "Little Red Riding Hood," "Snow White,"
and several other fairy tales involved, until the diamond is
found. The diamond turns out to be the Moon Goddess herself,
who is the reason all the exhibits have come to life. The
goddess banishes Krimson to the Amazon jungle and gives the
fairies a choice of coming back to the sky to be stars, or
staying and dancing for children. In a final characteristic
act, the witch brings in clouds to block the moonlight so the
fairies can't dance, but Jethro and Ambrose work together to
dissipate the clouds.

Fairleigh Dickinson University This Fairleigh
Dickenson University Friendship Library formerly held a
collection of comic art materials, which was relocated to the
Library of Congress in 2001. Before the relocation, the
collection was described as follows:
Fairleigh Dickinson University's library holds 4,000 pieces
of original comics art, with 1,245 volumes of supporting
material, and some comic books. The late Harry "A" Chesler
donated a large portion of the art collection, and for several
years worked on the collection at the library a couple of days
each week, guiding visitors and answering questions. Chesler
ran one of the art studios that created comic book stories on
contract for various publishers during the Golden Age of comic
books. (5/02)

The Fairy of Domesticity.
Télé au Royaume des Ombres / Olivia Clavel. -- Paris : Les
Humanoďdes Associés, 1983. -- 50 p. : ill. ; 33 cm. -- (Les
Aventures de Télé) -- (Collection Pied Jaloux) -- Summary:
Télé awakes to a power failure with only his/her shadow for
company. Télé follows a parade of prehistoric looking,
Genet-quoting animal monsters, which joins a group of women
truckdrivers and their trucks. A mysterious bodiless
shadow is also following the parade. Télé is captured by
the kamioneuses (or camioneuses). The truckdrivers are then
set upon by a rival gang, the précieuses (or gracieuses),
who drive smaller cars. While trying to escape in the
confusion with a Proust-quoting monster, Télé is captured
by the new gang, but freed by a kiss from the mysterious
shadow. Télé flees with the monsters, pursued by both gangs
while the city begins to flood. The monsters (quoting
Robert Desnos) and Télé make it to a market in the suburbs
for a good meal underwater, chewing their literature. The
kamioneuses refuel and have a beer. Most of the rest of the
story is underwater, with fish going by. Télé is captured
by a band of rockeuses (or rockettes), and the animals
flee. Both the kamioneuses and the gracieuses see the
animals without Télé, and the camioneuses soon attack the
rockettes, trying to retrieve Télé. The rockettes escape
on their Vespas with a wounded Télé. Télé is left in the
care of Garance, the dauphine of the rockettes, who wants
to stay home and read comics anyhow. Her pile of comics
includes Popeye, Spirou, Tintin and The Spirit. Garance
takes Télé on a flying scooter ride, and they visit the
Fairy of Domesticity. The fairy hooks Télé up to a
futuramama machine and makes predictions. Télé's shadow
asks the fairy's shadow about the mysterious shadow. The
fairy makes a pay phone ring where the shadow is and she
(with the animals quoting Robert Desnos again) is reunited
with Télé's shadow. Télé leaves, with the animals quoting
Charles Baudelaire and Arthur Rimbaud, to find the shadow's
body. The three gangs declare peace. While Télé is still
searching, the animals quote Lou Reed & Philip K. Dick.
Climbing above the water, Télé finds his/her true love
stuck in another dimension, but crashes through to a happy
ending. -- Lesbian characters. -- Genre: Women's. -- Call
