The Sandman

A feature and superhero character in comic books, starting in Adventure Comics in 1939. A substantially different DC Comics Sandman superhero character appeared in the 1970s. The two characters are being included in this chronological list as they become indexed. The periodicals in which the stories chiefly appear are A new, non-superhero character appears beginning in 1989. Details of the newer series will be found with the Sandman (1989-1996) bibliographical entry. This character also appears in the later Sandman Mystery Theatre (1993-1999).
