volume, Season Two of the cartoon kicks off in high gear
following the disappearance of Sumdac and the destruction
of Detroit at the hands of Megatron. Now Sari tries to hold

Summary: In Wales, a young and apparently
blind woman named Leonora
Steele finds her parents and servants all dead, except for a
mentally retarded boy named Damien who seems to have done the
killing. Sixteen years later she comes to the office of Dylan
Dog because Damien has escaped. She says that Damien has turned
into a monster, and wants Dylan Dog to destroy him. Dylan
visits Damien's psychiatrist, Dr. Herbert Pierce, to get
background. Pierce presides over an asylum for the wealthy, and
Leonora had been paying Damien's bills because she was afraid
of him. Damien, the doctor says, is a mutant, inexplicably
strong and unable to feel pain. On the sixteenth anniversary of
the Steele killings, and after sixteen years of apathy and
silence, he suddenly said Leonora's name and walked out through
walls, electric fences and gunfire, and hasn't been seen since.
On the way to the Steele house, Dylan tells the doctor that
"Dog" is his real last name, and that his father was a fan of
Dylan Thomas. When they arrive at the house, which is protected
by a small army of mercenaries, it is revealed that Dr. Pierce
is married to Leonora. Dylan's associate Felix is also present,
having brought the notes from Damien's trial, from which Dylan
learns that Leonora wasn't blind before the original incident.
Leonora becomes hysterical when she thinks the machete that was
the original murder weapon is newly missing, and her husband
assures her it's been missing for 16 years. Later that evening
he asks her what she did with the machete, and she accuses him
of trying to drive her crazy. Outside, one of the guards is
killed with an axe or knife and the others start shooting. The
guards give up the search because of the darkness, but Dylan
finds a trail leading down a well and follows it. After a fall,
Dylan wakes up at the bottom of the well and finds the remains
of a castle underground
below Steele House, with suits of armor, flaming torches,
labyrinthine passageways and deathtraps. He finds Damien poring
in tears over a picture of Leonora, and feeling sorry for
himself about being a monster. Damien has a farmer's sickle,
and Dylan has a sword
from a suit of armor, and they fight. Damien then runs up a
staircase to a trap door in the stables and gets on a horse to
ride away. The mercenaries kill him with a hail of bullets.
Everybody says they didn't know about the underground
passageways. Dylan starts wondering where the missing machete
really is, since Damien didn't have it. Then Leonora cuts off
Herbert's head with it, having recovered the memory of being
herself the original killer. Leonora has a daughter, Lilith,
who is also Damien's daughter, and that was the secret the
earlier killings were done to protect.
