Joe Palooka can't make it to the penitentiary to referee
some bouts, so his manager Knobby Walsh takes the job
instead. There's a breakout and Marvin Bonessa, who has
sworn he will kill Knobby for getting him stuck in jail,
escapes. Knobby is nervous for awhile, but after a couple
of weeks he relaxes, only to have Bonessa show up in his
apartment and hold him at gunpoint. Joe happens to stop
over and fights Bonessa as Knobby calls the police, and the
