NERO.
   "I was a Captive of the Super-Robot" 8 p. in My Greatest
Adventure, no. 35 (Sept. 1959). Summary (by Ed Gildner):
Professor Hartley and a team of specialists have built an
incredible robot that calculates, computes, records and is
self-operational. The professor names it NERO:
Nuclear-Electronic Recording Octad. He equips it with an
Octo-gun, sensitive detectors and a voice box. Next he and
an engineer named John try to power Nero with lightning.
Unfortunately the lightning produces an independent streak
in NERO, and it escapes a barn, smashes a bank and runs
free. As NERO is reading John's mind, he tricks it into
falling in a river and short circuiting. The professor
declares that after NERO is repaired, he won't have any
independent qualities. -- Call no.: PN6728.2.N3M9no.35

Nesbitt, Charlie.
"The Screaming Woman!" / Jack Kamen ; adapted from a story
by Ray Bradbury. 7 p. in Crime SuspenStories, no. 15
   (Feb./Mar. 1953). -- Summary (by Amy Lazet): Ten-year-old
Margaret Leary hears screaming as she passes through an
abandoned lot. A woman has been buried alive! Margaret begs
her father to help her dig the woman up, but he doesn't
believe her. Her father finally promises to go to the
abandoned lot with her after lunch. Conversation turns to
the neighbors, Helen and Charlie Nesbitt, who have been
fighting. Margaret's father says he used to be engaged to
Helen, and she had written him a song, but before he can
sing it Margaret pulls him out the door. They go to the
empty lot, but there is no screaming. Her father leaves and
Margaret knocks on the neighbors' doors to see if anyone is
missing, and indeed Helen Nesbitt is missing. On her way
home she hears the voice again, this time singing. At home
she sings the song for her father, who recognizes it as the
one written for him. Finally convinced, he grabs his shovel
