Hurricane / R. Baldazzini & L. Canossa. -- New York : Catalan Communications, 1991. -- 48 p. : ill. ; 28 cm. -- (Stella Norris ; 1) -- Translated from the Italian Uragano, by Stefano Gaudiano. -- The back cover blurb places this in the 1940's. Summary: Stella and her new husband Logan seek shelter for the night in a waterfront hotel near Jacksonville, Fla., because it's not safe to drive. The owners of the hotel, which is being remodeled and is not yet open for business, are Amy and Perry. Amy met Perry when he was in a clinic recovering from a nervous breakdown. He has still not fully recovered. The fifth member of the cast is a man named Molina, who is staying overnight because the winds are too strong for him to take his boat back into the swamp where he raises alligators. Molina looks familiar to Stella. Molina and Amy are former lovers, and though Perry seems spineless he kills Molina when he tries to force her to resume the relationship. At the same time Stella recovers a memory that it was Molina who murdered her father back in Italy when she was 10 years old. Stella helps Amy feed Molina's body to his own alligators. The next morning, Stella and her husband go on their way, and Perry hangs himself. During the story, Stella tells the of how she lost track of her twin sister in Italy, and has been searching America for her for two years. Though she and Amy are drawn identically, this isn't pursued in the plot.
