first Kelly Green album, The Go-Between, begins
with Kelly's policeman husband getting killed in a cocaine raid

Kraken is about
an old friend of the protagonist who has become an addict and
is working for cocaine smugglers. In the Condor album L'Otage, it is revealed
that the innocent-seeming granddaughter who is ransomed and
rescued is actually a cocaine smuggler.
