desolate place in 2150 A.D., since a big atomic war has
destroyed most of it. Time travelers go back 250 years with
a plan to prevent the invention of the atomic bomb. It
apparently works. Then space aliens appear with plans to
remove all of Earth's oxygen, and Earth is defenseless. So
humans go back again and reverse the previous intervention,
and the atomic bombs are back. They have no effect on the
alien ships, though. What finally saves the day is shooting
steel arrows through the sides of the ships. The lesson
learned is this: "Earth cannot endure if we fight among
ourselves! If we must wage war, let us join forces against
invaders from other worlds!" -- Call no.:

"Rockabye Berries!" (Popeye) / Bud Sagendorf. 16 p. in

Lazet): "A Lethargic Tale of Slumbering Horror and the
Snoozing Sleepers of a Drowsy Island." A banging on the
door brings Popeye running: King Blozo needs his help. The
inhabitants of Spinachova, King Blozo's land, have fallen
asleep and no one can wake them. The King convinces Popeye,
Olive Oyl, Wimpy and Swee'pea to come to his country to
rouse his sleeping people. Unbeknownst to them, the almost
forgotten original people of the island of Spinachova, the
Big-Eared Pygmies, have hatched a nefarious scheme. By
crossing onions with huckleberries, they have developed
"rocakabye berries," which induce sleep. Popeye, the King,
and Olive Oyl pretend to be asleep and are taken by the
Pygmies. Olive convinces their leader to tell her why he
has committed these dastardly deeds. The Pygmies don't like
spinach, so they have captured King Blozo's subjects to
plant the farms with carrots instead. In return for
planting some carrots in addition to spinach the Pygmies
agree to let their victims go, but it is up to Popeye and
Olive to awaken everyone by tickling their feet with a
special feather. -- Call no.: PN6728.1.D4P57no.10

Ozuna, Pelón.
   "Pesadilla" (Memín) / argumento, Yolanda Vargas Dulché ;

SUMMARY: Isabel, the mother of Carlos, becomes very
depressed when she learns that Carlos is missing out on
some of the fun with his friends because they're so poor.
She pretends to go out all night to a cabaret and come home
drunk at dawn. This, she seems to be hoping, will convince
Carlos to take his rich father's offer and move into the
mansion. Carlos is beside himself to think his mother has
gone back to her old profession, and pleads with her to
continue doing laundry for people. She says they'll talk
about it later, and that for now he should just get out of
her way. Carlos goes to play baseball with his friends, and
Memín can tell he's upset behind his smile. Memín hits a
