In the Beginning / art & story by Riverstone ; translated by Georgina Ranuzzi. -- San Francisco, CA : Priaprism Press, 1998. -- 67 p. : col. ill. ; 30 cm. -- (Nagarya ; pt. 1) -- "Adults only." -- "Originally published in France as Nagarya tome 1, Aux premiers temps, by International Press Magazine." -- Science fiction. -- Call no.: PN6747.R55N313 1998

Summary: Castaways Anny Wellington, Captain John, Mongo, and Jo (one woman and three men) are shipwrecked on a strange, humid planet. Flashbacks from before the shipwreck show that John has long been obsessed with Anny. Now he calls her "Eve" and plans to populate the planet with her if they find they're really alone. Anny's dreams and/or hallucinations, and John's flashbacks, complicate their relationship, as does the presence of the other two men. Among the dream/flashback scenes are one with a dragon and a mounted knight with a lance, a spaceport and a space shuttle, and a centaur. The crew finds the decayed remains of a civilization, but things are not resolved. To be continued. Notes: Anny Wellington looks much like Little Annie Fanny. Best quote: "You overused your indecision power against me as you knew I figured out your plans! Get out!" (p. 15)

-- Begins: "Le traumatisme est décidément la source
d'inspiration majeur d'Art Spiegelman. Il lui communique ce
'sentiment d'urgence' qui le pousse vers sa table de

naturel'. Toutefois, à la diffénce de Maus, où les victimes
