Democratic candidate for President of the United States,
says she was 'abducted by aliens.' As the Mexican-American
Governor of New Mexico, she's dealing with immigration,
budget cuts and an alcoholic ex. She's about to toss her
hat into the ring as a candidate for President in the most
volatile political climate ever. But then, a lonely road

disgraced Harvard UFOologist who might not be completely
sane. It's a strange road to the White House but Alvarado
is determined to get there because she has information that
could stop an alien invasion and save the world. From the

Alvarado, Sheila.
City of Clowns / Daniel Alarcón, Sheila Alvarado. -- New
York : Riverhead Books, 2015. -- 138 p. : ill. ; 24 cm --
Translated from the Spanish of Ciudad de Payasos. --
Summary (from publisher via OCLC): Oscar "Chino" Uribe is a
young Peruvian journalist for a local tabloid paper. After
the recent death of his philandering father, he must
confront the idea of his father's other family, and how
much of his own identity has been shaped by his father's
murky morals. At the same time, he begins to chronicle the
life of street clowns, sad characters who populate the
violent and corrupt city streets of Lima, and is drawn into
their haunting, fantastical world. This remarkably
affecting story by Daniel Alarcon was included in his
acclaimed first book, War by Candlelight, and now, in
collaboration with artist Sheila Alvarado, it takes on a
new, thrilling form. This graphic novel, with its short
punches of action and images, its stark contrasts between
light and dark, truth and fiction, perfectly corresponds to
the tone of Chino's story. With the city of Lima as a
character, and the bold visual language from the story,
City of Clowns is moving, menacing, and brilliantly vivid."

"The Hunters" (Marge's Little Lulu) 6 p. in Marge's Little
Lulu, no. 70 (Apr. 1954). -- Summary (by Shayna Sherman):
Iggy, Tubby and a friend try to shoot a rabbit with their
bows and arrows. Then Iggy buys jelly beans and makes a
path from the rabbit's hole to their clubhouse, but Lulu
follows the path and eats the jelly beans. The boys pretend
that the jelly beans were dangerous, make her lie down, and
pour a bucket of water over her to "save her life." Lulu
overhears them laughing about it, borrows a toy rabbit from
Alvin, and puts it in a rowboat out in the water. When the
boys shove off on a log to get the rabbit, she pulls the
rabbit back to her with a string. -- Call no.:
