Treasure

Treasure, usually meaning a chest of gold and jewels, is a motivator in a lot of adventure story comics, especially involving pirates. A case in point is the Barbe-Rouge story L'Île de l'Homme Mort, in which Redbeard's son inherits a treasure map from his supposedly dead father. See also Buried Treasure.
