Summary: Zerit is looking for The Tower, the former center of human civilization on Kolony. He crash-lands on an island and finds a young man named Fango. Fango has lived with his robot tutor since his uncle died, and had thought he was the lone human survivor in the world. Back at the Village of the Maser, Erha prepares to search for Zerit because he hasn't reported in. The elders of the village give her a map of The Tower to take to Zerit, though the map doesn't say where The Tower is. When they see the Second Moon in the night sky, they send her off in a hurry, because there's some connection between the appearance of the moon and finding The Tower. Erha is named after the Second Moon. Zerit revives a vehicle on Fango's island, and continues his search for The Tower, taking a reluctant Fango with him.
