(from SkyRiver): Yamaoka and his father, Kaibara Yûzan,
have never enjoyed an ideal father-son relationship. In
fact, it's about as far from ideal as possible, and when
they start arguing about food--which they inevitably
do--the sparks really fly. In this volume of Oishinbo the
subject of dispute is fish, starting with the question of
whether mackerel can ever be truly good sashimi. Later,
things come to a head during the "Salmon Battle," which
pits father against son in an epic contest to develop the

Summary: A bunker is constructed in the sewers, and Father
Spencer, an exorcist, is called in. Though Dante believes
that the Kraken is only an immortal and troublesome beast,
the Church suspects that it is actually Satan himself. In
the bunker are a radar station, to watch for the Kraken,
and a pulpit, so the exorcist can preach to it. Dante, with
some of his men, and the priest's obnoxious assistant are
also locked in for the duration. After nine hours of
impassioned preaching the Kraken arrives, and the priest
seems to die. After hitting the bunker a few times the
Kraken leaves. The priest then comes alive again, and is
shot by his assistant who thinks the priest is now

desolate place in 2150 A.D., since a big atomic war has
destroyed most of it. Time travelers go back 250 years with
a plan to prevent the invention of the atomic bomb. It
apparently works. Then space aliens appear with plans to
remove all of Earth's oxygen, and Earth is defenseless. So
humans go back again and reverse the previous intervention,
and the atomic bombs are back. They have no effect on the
alien ships, though. What finally saves the day is shooting
steel arrows through the sides of the ships. The lesson
learned is this: "Earth cannot endure if we fight among

Legion communications satellite. Then Burton & Cyb
crash-land by a Legion fortress on a nearby planet,
claiming they were attacked by a warship disguised as a
certain metallic asteroid. The commander doesn't believe
them until a message from their communications satellite
confirms the story and indicates an invasion in progress.
The commander sends missiles to pulverize the asteroids in
the region, then abandons the fortress. Burton and Cyb are
then ready to call in miners to collect the easily-gathered
precious metals pulverized from the asteroid, and the pair
also starts figuring what kind of scam to pull with the
