-- English summary (from p. 127): "Reading with No Safety
Net. Why do comic art lovers tend to consider that, in
spite of Mattotti's great fame as an illustrator, his
comics do not really belong in the medium? Jacques Samson
takes this question as the starting point for a reflection
on the unique place Mattotti occupies in the landscape of
contemporary graphic creation." -- Call no.: folio

"Une Souffle Romanesque" / Jacques Samson. p. 32-35 in 9e
English summary (from p. 136): "Romantic Inspiration:
Jacques Samson analyses the construction of Le Cahier
Bleu's script, where the same events are successively seen
through the eyes of the different characters. On the
classical theme of the eternal triangle (one woman, two
men), Juillard, judiciously citing extracts from a personal
diary called the 'cahier bleu' (the blue notebook), has
spun a subtle web where sentimental issues and the passing
of time are salient features." -- Call no.: folio

Samura, Hiroaki, 1970- Japanese comics artist. --
"Unlike many manga artists, Samura Hiroaki attended fine art
school for awhile, though he never finished his degree. He was
born on February 17, 1970, and his hometown is Chiba. Because
of his background in traditional art, Samura's style at times
is much more realistic, in both the human anatomy and the
background settings, than the usual manga style" -- Data from
Jordan Taylor (IAH211B class project Fall 2010). See also his

Immortal.
