"The Innocent Man in Murderer's Row!" (Mr. Dictrict
Attorney) 10 p. in Mr. District Attorney, no. 14 (Mar./Apr.
1950). -- Summary (by Amy Lazet): -- The D.A. knows that
Windy Maner runs an extortion scheme, although he always
manages to keep just within the law. Then one night in July
1948 a transaction goes wrong and a merchant is gunned down
by a member of Windy's gang, at Windy's orders. The police
quickly arrest the gunman, who is sentenced to death by
electrocution. The gunman protests his innocence and makes
an impassioned plea on the way to the electric chair, and
the newspapers run the story. Windy sees his chance. The
executed man was not the real killer, and not even a member
of Windy's gang. Windy has the real killer write a
confession and board a plane out of the country while Windy
sends the confession and the murder weapon to the press,

SUMMARY: New York, 1940. Reporter Virginia Mueller gets an
assignment to do a story on the Blackhawks. Wu Cheng
(Chop-Chop), who has been living in his home village in
China, sends a distress call to the Blackhawks. A huge
mechanical dragon is being used by the Japanese to
devastate the village and intimidate the superstitious
villagers. Ginny Mueller and the Blackhawks meet in the
deserted village, and find Wu Cheng's diary. It describes
the building of the dragon, with American aid, and Wu
Cheng's efforts to stop it. Imprisoned by the Japanese, Wu
Cheng learns that the Japanese attacked his village
specifically to lure the Blackhawks there, as part of a
bargain with Germany. Ginny's presence as a witness was
also arranged by the Japanese. Wu Cheng gets free in time
to reveal the set-up and save the day. He re-joins the
Blackhawks team. -- Call no.: PN6728.1.Q3U5no.273

Québécoise : Étude de Cas, les Nombrils / Amélie Honorez.
   -- Saarbrücken, Deutschland/Allemagne : Presses Académiques
   Francophones, 2014. -- 93 p. ; 22 cm.

   -- Milwaukie, Or. : Dark Horse Books, 2009. -- 189 p. :

to interact with a fragile world that isn't built to
withstand your size? To live in a house that doesn't fit
you anymore, with a wife who doesn't either? Craig
Pressgang's life is well documented in his official CIA
biography, Giant Man: Pillar of America, but the heroic
picture it paints is only half the story. The continuous
growth caused by Craig's strange medical condition brings a
