Lorna and Her RobotLorna and Her Robot / artwork and story by Alfonso Azpiri. -- Rockville Centre, NY: Heavy Metal, 1999? -- The form is episodic, consisting of short stories originally published separately and here strung together. -- 46 p. : col. ill. ; 28 cm. -- Translation of: Lorna y su Robot. -- Erotic science fiction genre. -- Call no.: PN6777.A9R613 1990zSummary: Professor Lorna is kidnapped by the Sheiks of Plutonium and brainwashed. When her robot Matt finds her months later she is frigid and campaigning in favor of plutonium. The robot releases his erotic fluids and ruins the planned parenthood program of an entire planet, but Lorna does not respond. Matt takes her to the wizard Gonardalf for a supernatural cure, which works after a horde of practitioners of black magic invade the wizard's cave. Next the spaceship crash-lands on Kashondus VII. Lorna at first mistakes the inhabitants for the Flintstones, then teaches them to make fire. In the morning Lorna is doing her exercises and is attacked by "Wilkinson's Thrusting Vine." She is rescued by the robot helper of Dr. Gotarzin, a philosopher in exile, who only wants one thing. Gotarzin's robot helper has amorous designs on Matt. The next people they meet are a group of lesbian witches to whom Lorna relates joyfully in exchange for a map and some soup. Soon Lorna and Matt encounter a strange, hurried creature with a "temporal pocket," the inside of which is larger than the outside. He has everything they need, and is building a spaceship, but it turns out he's built it upsidedown and it's of no use. The next morning they wake up and find they've been sleeping between two battered Terrestrial spaceships who are fighting each other in continuance of some old war. Lorna takes the leaders aside and shows them how to be friendly, but they blow themselves up in a mushroom cloud anyhow. Next they are found by the wizard Thumamon and his metal-eating dinosaur. Lorna enjoys his company until a timer goes off and they find it's all illusion and she's been cavorting with a rat. A dimensional gate seems possible to figure out, but it turns out that it lets things come to them from all kinds of places and times, but won't let them go anywhere. Next they find the cabin of a lonely bachelor, who promptly attacks Lorna. Dr. Gotarzin's robot helper shows up and hits the bachelor with a paralyzing ray, and Lorna settles down to read his dirty magazines. Using the bachelor's equipment, Lorna sends out distress signals and they are rescued before the bachelor thaws out. The robot helper comes along, and settles in to be a permanent boyfriend and bedmate for Matt. This summary is from European Comics in English Translation (Jefferson, NC : McFarland & Company, 2002).
