Summary: This feature originates as a one-page weekly strip in a non-comics magazine. The pages collected in this second album are numbered 41 through 86. There is only occasional continuity from page to page. Jacky gets fed up with housework, and gets a job at a bank, where the wages barely cover the extra expenses caused by her absence from home. Next she works for a printing company where she is obliged to be a hostess for a customer, her husband. Finally the family tricks her into quitting. The pets run away, Jack rails against bubble gum and door-to-door salesmen. The kids (two girls, Carlene and Cathy) struggle with homework, and Cathy has a birthday. The watchdog is stolen, Jack fries himself with fireworks, then drinks too much. Strangers make fun of their dachshund, and Jacky gets fed up with housework again. Jack makes fun of the cat. Homework again, and a foggy day makes it hard to find the dentist's office. Skating weather means skipping school. Talk about fleas and lice makes Jack itchy. In a two-page sequence, the artist draws himself selling his car to the family. Then Jack holds forth against the messiness of the house, and trips on his own shoes. The pets eat the Easter eggs. A life insurance salesman comes. Jack forgets their anniversary. The girls talk about classmates. Jack tries to make breakfast. Jacky wants a new coat. Jack hires a cleaning lady and Jacky has to clean up to get ready for her. The family participates in a traffic jam all the way to the beach. The younger daughter wishes she were adopted. The stork business is the preferred explanation for childbirth. A foul-mouthed classmate visits, and Cathy introduces him as her fiancé. The family makes fun of its dachshund. Jacky gets a washing machine, finally. Carlene meets a boy while walking the dog. Cathy bawls all day. Jack is fascinated by another woman, and Jacky throws him in the canal. Cathy gets a disease via a felt pen. The family leaves for vacation, and has to come back because they might not have turned off the gas.
