The Iron TowerThe Iron Tower / created and illustrated by Massimiliano Frezzato ; written by Mandryka ; translation, Fershid Bharucha. -- Rockville Centre, NY : Heavy Metal, 2000. -- 44 p. : col. ill. ; 33 cm. -- (The Keepers of the Maser ; 4) -- Call no.: PN6767.F687K44 2000Summary: Succo tries to steal the only flying vehicle and beat everybody to The Tower, but Zerit catches him. Zerit is then ready to leave with Erha, and Fango wants to stay with Tyta because they're in love. Succo attacks in an armored suit, and Fango and Tyta flee onto the aircraft, but Tyta jumps back out to keep Succo from destroying it. Zerit, Erha and Fango finally leave, with the tutor robot, the sewer rat, and a stowaway dwarf named Vyon also aboard. As they fly over the ocean, Erha hears Yoks, giant whale-like creatures, crying telepathically in pain. Succo and Tyta are following in an underwater craft. As the aircraft approaches The Tower it is fired upon and damaged, crash landing in a crack in the wall. Vyon the dwarf falls out and radios Ivolina, who is on her way with a large force of dwarves. Erha has a symbol on her necklace that allows them to operate the tower's elevators. They come to a lake high in the tower, and an imprisoned Yok asks Erha for help. Humans have been using the female Yok to reproduce themselves, because the women of the tower are sterile. Now the Yok species is dying out and needs a fertile human ovum to produce another Yok queen. Erha is the only donor available, and she assents. Without transition, Erha wakes up in a grassy field with her head shaved and a menacing figure telling her the she is on trial. This summary is from European Comics in English
