Gullivera / by Manara ; translation by Jacinthe Leclerc ; lettering by Sharon Lewis. -- New York : Nantier Beall Minoustchine, 1996. -- 1 v. : col. ill. ; 30 cm. -- (Eurotica) -- Based on Jonathan Swift's Gulliver's Travels. -- Call no.: PN6767.M36G8 1996

Summary: A young woman takes her air mattress out on the bay for some nude sunbathing, near where an antique sailing ship has been anchored and empty for a week. She manages to lose her bathing suit and her air mattress, so she climbs onto the deserted ship. On the ship she finds a three-cornered hat, a tattered Union Jack with which to cover herself (almost), and a copy of Gulliver's Travels by Jonathan Swift. She settles down to read, and a storm comes up. The ship's anchor comes loose and the ship races out to sea. Eventually it hits land, and she is thrown overboard, to wake up staked to the beach by a race of tiny people, in a country called Lilliput. The people take her to their king, whose only desire is to have her form an arch with her legs to let his army march between them. A tiny fleet of pirates attacks, and the woman captures their boats so that Lilliput can have a navy. In gratitude, the Lilliputians make her a nice dress and shoes. The palace catches fire, and the queen's life is threatened. The giant woman urinates on the queen to save her life, but the queen is insulted and tries to have her arrested. At this the giantess sees her ship intact just offshore, and rides it to another country where the people are even larger than herself. Going ashore, she is captured by teenagers who think she is some kind of toy. They get her drunk and put her in a butterfly cage, and the cage is grabbed by an eagle and taken aloft. One of the teenagers shoots her down with an arrow, and she lands near her ship and leaves. The next landing is in a country of talking horses, whose amorous advances cause her to leave almost immediately. Next she sails under a floating city, full of bored women whose husbands never pay attention to them. The women demonstrate the sado-masochistic games they play to pass the time, and our traveler soon leaves them to it. At the next stop she finds a tiny unoccupied house with tiny furniture on the beach, and kicks it over. A little girl, built to the same scale as Gullivera, complains: "I didn't do anything to you and you broke my Barbie house!"
