Summary: The Smurfs are happy, but Gargamel is not, so he thinks of an evil trick. He makes a Smurfette to send among them. He puts her together from clay and a list of ingredients that includes sugar, spice, bird brain, adder's tongue, white lies, slyness, vanity, chatter, and stone for her heart. He animates her, and leaves her in the woods. A Smurf finds her and invites her to the village, and trouble starts. Nobody wants to give up his house for her. She redecorates everything, and won't stop talking long enough to let them work on the dam they're building. She cooks for them, but burns the food. She demands a party, but insists that they waltz instead of their usual line dancing. She sings, but they don't like it. Some of the Smurfs come up with a plan: they trick the Smurfette into thinking she's gaining weight and pretty soon she's hiding in her house. Papa Smurf is concerned, and takes her to his laboratory, where he does some plastic smurfery. When she comes out her formerly straggly black hair is long and blonde. Her nose is shorter, Her dress has ruffles. Her feet are smaller. She still isn't smart, but the Smurfs are suddenly all in love with her. Soon they are fighting for her attention. Up at the dam, she uses her wiles to convince Poet Smurf to open the floodgate, and the village is destroyed. Papa Smurf scolds her, and she says if they feel that way she's going back to Gargamel. This is a surprise. The Smurfs hold a trial, and decide that the whole business is Papa Smurf's fault because of the makeover he gave her. Smurfette realizes the village will have no peace while she's there, and leaves. For revenge, Papa Smurf creates a female version of Gargamel and sends her to live with the evil wizard.
