Petunia Pig (Feb. 1950)
"Fountain of Youth"* (Bugs Bunny) 12 p. in Looney Tunes and
Merrie Melodies Comics, no. 100 (Feb. 1950). -- Summary (by
Amy Lazet): A mysterious man who is being chased tosses
Bugs Bunny a vial of liquid and tells him to guard it with
his life. As Bugs is telling Porky Pig about it the next
day, a policeman tells them that Bugs' mysterious man is
Professor Bimbloke, a scientist who claims to have
discovered the Fountain of Youth, and he is missing. Bugs
and Porky accidentally drop the bottle and a rooster drinks
it, and promptly turns into a chick. The chick waddles off
to Elmer Fudd's home with Bugs and Porky following, and
they realize that the Fountain is in Elmer's back yard.
Meanwhile the villains have gotten the location of the
fountain out of the professor. One comes back to steal the
water, but Bugs throws some on him and turns him into an
innocent juvenile, who happily leads them to the professor.
After the villains are arrested, Bugs, and Elmer and the
professor return to bottle the water, but the fountain has
gone dry. Petunia had a bottle of the water, but before she
drank from the bottle she refilled it with fresh water. --

"Originally published in single magazine form as Preacher
Special : One Man's War, Preacher 34-40." -- Summary (from
SkyRiver): The Almighty has quit His Heaven, and the
Reverend Jesse Custer, with the help of his girlfriend
Tulip and his best friend, the Irish vampire Cassidy, aims
to find out why. The Lord is hard to track, though, even
for someone whose soul has been merged with a
near-omnipotent supernatural entity called Genesis. To pick
up the trail, Jesse needs to get inside his own head for a
one-on-one talk with his guest - and for that, a fistful of
peyote taken under the open Arizona sky seems just the
ticket. What's waiting for him in Monument Valley, however,
is something much less spiritual: an entire U.S. Army tank
regiment, commandeered by the newly elevated Allfather of
the Grail, Herr Starr. Determined to harness the power of
Genesis for himself, Starr is willing to use everything in
the American military arsenal to force Jesse to his will -
and neither side is going to walk away from this showdown
without taking heavy casualties. -- Horror genre. -- Call
