Damaghosha, King.
"Krishna and Shishupala : He was Forgiven a Hundred Times"
/ script, Kamala Chandrakant ; artworks, Ram Waeerkar. 31
   p. in Amar Chitra Katha, no. 589 (1978, 1998 printing). --
(Epic & Mythology) -- Begins: "The house of King Damaghosha
of Chedi was steeped in gloom. What should have been a
joyous event turned out to be a nightmare. The long-awaited
son, born to Damaghosha and his queen, was a freak, with
four arms and three eyes." -- Summary from back cover:
"Shishupala's mother was shocked when she came to know that
her child was destined to be killed by Krishna. She
extracted a promise from him that he would forgive
Shishupala a hundred offences. As he grew up, Shishupala
had enough reasons to be angry with Krishna. Especially
after he was jilted by Princess Rukmini, in favour of the
merry-eyed cowherd. He provoked Krishna repeatedly and was
forgiven a hundred thimes. And then one day Shishupala
committed his hundred and first offence." -- Subtitle,

   24 p. in Vasan's Chitra Katha, no. 13 (2000?). -- "The
story of Nala and Damayanti has been well known to the
people of this country over the ages. It is one of the
episodes of the great epic, the Mahabharatha. The story of
Nala and Damayanti was narrated by a Rishi to Yudhishtira,
the eldest of the Pandavas, when he was exiled to the
forest after losing a game of dice. Nala too was defeated
in a game of dice by the machinations of an unscrupulous
cousin and had to retire to the forest. The trials and
tribulations of Nala and his ultimate triumph is an epic in
itself and can be read in this book." -- Begins: "Long,

In Delporte and Peyo's The Smurfette, the title character floods the village by using her wiles on Poet Smurf up at the dam.

"The Drone" (The Mercenary) / V. Segrelles. p. 35-47 in
Giants / V. Segrelles (New York : Nantier Beall
Minoustchine, 1999). -- Summary: The Mercenary saves a
damsel in distress from a monster, and it turns out she's a
warrior from an all-woman civilization called the Swats.
They are then captured by the complementary all-man
civilization called the Omks. The Swats attack and rescue
The Mercenary, but it's too late for their sister who's
been beheaded. It was the Omks who put her out for the
monster to eat in the first place. In the Swat country, The
Mercenary is taken before the giant queen for a decision as
to whether he should be kept alive to breed a new princess.
The decision is negative, but the warrior women rebel, kill
the queen, and decide to keep The Mercenary as a shared
drone. He escapes when their society, now without a queen,
gets preoccupied with politics. -- Call no.: PN6777.S4G513
